Terms of Service
Last updated: September 4, 2026
The short version
Use Bling to edit your own videos, or videos you have the right to edit. You keep every bit of ownership in what you make. Pro renews monthly until you cancel, Lifetime is a single payment, and we will refund either one within 14 days if it is not for you.
The full terms are below. They are the ones that apply, so the summary above is a courtesy and not a substitute.
1. Agreement to these terms
These Terms of Service are a contract between you and Bling ("Bling", "we", "us"). By downloading, installing or using the Bling app, or by creating an account, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Bling.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Bling, and at least 16 if you are in the EEA or UK. If you are using Bling for a company or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.
Our Privacy Policy is part of these terms.
2. What Bling is
Bling is a desktop application for macOS that transcribes your footage and helps you cut it: removing silences, filler words and bad takes, and exporting the result or a timeline for another editor.
Cutting, editing and export run on your own computer. Bling requires an Apple silicon Mac running macOS 13 or later, or a 64-bit PC running Windows 10 or later. Transcription runs either on your computer or, if you leave cloud transcription on while signed in, at our speech-to-text provider, which receives the audio track and nothing else. Your account, your plan and your purchase are handled online; the editing is not.
3. Your account
You need an account to use Bling. You agree to give an accurate email address, to keep your credentials secure, and to tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
An account is for one person. Do not share it, sell it or transfer it. If you need several seats, contact us.
4. Plans, billing and renewal
4.1 The plans
Bling has a Free plan, a Pro subscription and a one-time Lifetime purchase. The current prices and what each plan includes are on our pricing page, and those are the terms of the plan you buy. In summary: Free is limited to three AI-edited projects a month and exports at 720p with a Bling watermark; Pro and Lifetime remove the watermark, raise exports to 4K, and lift the project and upload limits.
Every account starts on Free. No card is required for Free.
4.2 Payment and renewal
Purchases are processed by Stripe, and you are subject to Stripe's terms when you pay. Prices are in US dollars and exclude any tax we are required to collect, which is added at checkout.
Pro renews automatically at the end of each billing period, charging the payment method on file, until you cancel. Lifetime is a single payment and does not renew.
4.3 Cancelling, and failed payments
You can cancel Pro at any time from the billing portal linked in the app. Cancelling stops the next charge; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then the account returns to Free. We do not pro-rate a partial month.
If a renewal payment fails, we keep your Pro access alive for a short grace period while Stripe retries the card. If it has not succeeded by the end of that window, the account returns to Free. Nothing you have made is deleted; the Free plan's limits and watermark simply apply again.
4.4 Price changes
We may change our prices. If we change the price of a subscription you already have, we will tell you at least 30 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then if you do not want to continue.
4.5 What "Lifetime" means
Lifetime means the lifetime of the product, not a guarantee that Bling will exist forever. It gives you Pro features, including future Pro features, for as long as we offer Bling, with no further payment. If we ever discontinue Bling entirely, a Lifetime licence does not entitle you to a refund of a purchase made more than 12 months earlier. We think this is unlikely, and we would rather say it plainly now than surprise you later.
5. Refunds, disputes and revocation
5.1 Our refund window
If Bling is not what you hoped, email liuwilliam12@gmail.com within 14 days of your purchase and we will refund it in full, for Pro or Lifetime. You do not need to give a reason. Where local consumer law gives you a longer or stronger right of withdrawal, that law wins and this clause does not limit it.
5.2 A refunded Lifetime licence ends
If a Lifetime purchase is refunded in full, the Lifetime licence is revoked and the account returns to Free. This is automatic. A partial or goodwill refund does not revoke it. You are welcome to buy again later.
5.3 Chargebacks
If you dispute a charge with your bank instead of asking us, access tied to that charge is revoked immediately, including an active Pro subscription, which is cancelled at once rather than at the end of the period. Please email us first. A refund is faster than a chargeback and we do not argue about the 14-day window.
6. Your content
You own your content. Your footage, your audio, your transcripts and your finished edits are yours, and nothing in these terms transfers any ownership in them to us.
We do not ask you for a licence to your content, because we never receive it. Editing happens on your computer. We cannot access, host, back up, review, publish or train models on your material, and we make no claim over it. If you delete a project from your computer, it is gone, and there is no copy on our side.
Cloud transcription is the single exception and it is yours to switch off. When it is on, the audio track of the file being transcribed is sent to our speech-to-text provider, which returns the words, processes that audio for the one request, and does not keep it or train on it. We still never receive it. Our privacy policy names the provider and describes exactly what is sent.
The corollary is that backups are your responsibility. We cannot restore a project you lose.
You are responsible for having the rights to the material you edit, including any music, footage or likeness in it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Bling to create or process material that is illegal, or that infringes someone else's copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
- create non-consensual intimate imagery, or material that sexualises minors;
- impersonate a real person in a way intended to deceive;
- reverse engineer, decompile or attempt to extract our source code, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction;
- circumvent, disable or tamper with plan limits, the export watermark, licensing checks or any other technical restriction;
- resell, sublicense, rent or redistribute Bling, or offer it as a service to others;
- share account credentials or licence keys;
- interfere with our services, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to them or to another user's account.
Removing the watermark by any means other than upgrading is a breach of these terms and ends your licence to use Bling.
8. AI output
Bling's transcripts and cut suggestions are produced automatically by machine learning models. They will sometimes be wrong: a word misheard, a pause misjudged, a good take marked as a bad one. Review your edit before you publish it. We are not responsible for the consequences of publishing an automated result you did not check, including inaccurate captions or subtitles.
Accessibility note: if you rely on Bling's captions to meet an accessibility obligation, you are responsible for checking that they are accurate.
9. Third-party content and software
Bling's optional stock footage picker searches Pexels using an API key you provide. That material is licensed by Pexels, not by us, and your use of it is governed by the Pexels licence. You are responsible for complying with it, including any attribution it requires.
Bling includes third-party open-source components, each under its own licence. Those licences govern those components, and nothing here limits the rights they grant you.
10. Our intellectual property
Bling, its software, its name, its logo and its design are ours and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Subject to these terms and to your plan, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the app. That is a licence, not a sale, and we keep every right not expressly granted here.
Feedback you send us is welcome, and we may use it to improve Bling without owing you anything for it. That does not give us any right to your content.
11. Availability and changes
We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something significant that your plan advertised, and it materially reduces what you paid for, email us and we will work out a fair remedy, which may include a pro-rated refund.
Because editing runs on your computer, most of Bling keeps working when our servers do not. Sign-in, purchase, plan checks and cloud transcription need the network, and we do not promise uninterrupted availability of those. If cloud transcription is unavailable, Bling falls back to transcribing on your own machine rather than failing.
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will give notice by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Bling after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not, stop using Bling and, if you are on Pro, cancel.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
Bling is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the software will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its transcripts or cuts will be accurate.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or lost footage, arising from your use of Bling.
Our total liability for any claim relating to Bling is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or fifty US dollars.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
14. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify us against claims, damages and reasonable costs arising from your content, from your use of Bling in breach of these terms, or from your violation of someone else's rights.
15. Termination
You may stop using Bling at any time, and delete your account from the app's account settings. See the Privacy Policy for what deletion does.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these terms, particularly §7. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we terminate your account without cause, we will refund the unused portion of what you paid.
Sections 6, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16 and 17 survive termination.
16. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Pennsylvania have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in another country, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory rules of your own country's law, or of your right to bring proceedings there.
Before filing anything, please email us. Nearly everything is solvable in a message.
17. General
These terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between us about Bling. If a provision is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing something is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets.
